How to get an Indian Passport renewed in USA

An Indian who is living in USA and has an Indian Passport that is about to expire in the near future or has all the pages of the passport filled will need to apply for a passport renewal. New passports can be reissued for 10 years for adults and for minors (i.e. under 18 years of age) for 5 years. After renewing, the old passport will be returned back to the owner. Also, if any valid visa is stamped on the passport then it will not be cancelled. The passport renewal service is not available for those carrying B1/B2 visa or those who are temporary visitors in USA. But the question is How to get an Indian Passport renewed in USA.
